Deepening My Acupuncture Practice: Angela’s Training Experience with Kiiko Matsumoto

At Womb to World, we’re always looking for ways to deepen our understanding and improve the care we offer. That’s why I was so excited to recently attend an intensive three-day training with my sensei, Kiiko Matsumoto, a world-renowned master in Japanese acupuncture. This experience was nothing short of transformative, allowing me to refine my skills and gain deeper insights into the art of acupuncture.

What I Learned From Kiiko Matsumoto’s Training

Kiiko’s approach is unique, blending traditional acupuncture with her own techniques honed over decades of practice. Her method focuses on addressing the root causes of health concerns rather than just alleviating symptoms.

One of the most impactful aspects of her work is her emphasis on detailed palpation – using touch to assess imbalances in the body and uncover hidden patterns of dysfunction. This hands-on diagnostic technique not only provides immediate insights into a patient’s condition but also allows for highly personalised treatments tailored to the individual.

I’m excited to integrate these advanced skills into my practice at Womb to World, offering even more precise and effective care for those seeking support for fertility, hormonal balance, digestion, and pain management. Here are a few key takeaways from the training that I can’t wait to bring into the clinic:

Key Takeaways from Kiiko Matsumoto’s Training

  • Refined Diagnostic Techniques: By using touch to assess the body’s energy and patterns, I can now identify imbalances with even greater accuracy. This allows me to design treatments that target the root causes of health concerns.

  • Advanced Treatments for Digestion, Fertility, and Chronic Pain: Kiiko’s methods offer gentle yet powerful techniques that provide lasting relief for issues like digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, and chronic pain.

  • Mind-Body Connection: One of the most enlightening parts of Kiiko’s training was understanding how physical symptoms are often deeply connected to emotional well-being. By addressing both the body and the mind, we can achieve a more holistic approach to healing.

For all my wonderful patients at Womb to World, this means even more precise and effective acupuncture treatments designed to bring about lasting, meaningful results. Whether you’re seeking support with fertility, hormonal balance, digestion, or pain management, these new techniques will offer a deeper level of care and attention to your specific needs. I’m thrilled to share this knowledge with you and continue supporting your unique healing journey.

A Little Fun with a Solo Getaway

Now, while the training itself was incredibly valuable, I’d be lying if I didn’t say the real highlight was the time I spent flying solo in Sydney. With no kids or responsibilities, I got to enjoy the luxury of a king-sized bed, room service on demand (yes, I ordered Uber Eats three nights in a row), and trashy TV without anyone interrupting. It was pure bliss.

It turns out that a little alone time can be incredibly healing, too! It was exactly the recharge I needed to return home with fresh energy and a renewed sense of purpose in my practice. So, if you ever get the chance to indulge in a solo getaway, I highly recommend it—sometimes, the best therapy is a little self-care.
